JOIN THE FIGHT!
Welcome to the North Carolina Sporting Dog Association.
We protect the right to own, use and breed unaltered animals in sports and for all other purposes.
October 1, 2011: The new hunter trespass law goes into effect on October 1, 2011. For the full text of this new law, explanations, and permission forms, visit the NC Wildlife Resources Commission website.
2011 Rogue Hunter Trespass Project: There were seven Hunter Trespass bills filed in the 2011 NC General Assembly. We worked with pro-hunting legislators to protect the rights of hunters, while responding to complaints about rogue hunters. The final bill passed was House Bill #762 "Landowner Protection Act". Visit the Legislative News page for more information. Join the NC Sporting Dog Association to learn more about what we are doing to protect the sport of hunting with dogs.
Preserve Wildlife Pens in North Carolina is a legislative initiative designed to raise funds to support the NC Sporting Dog Association's efforts to protect wildlife pens. A bill entitled "Study Fox Laws" House Bill #755 passed the legislature in June, 2011. The Study will be conducted by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. They must report to the legislature in April, 2012.
Our lobbyists monitor all legislation in Raleigh and will participate in the Study.
The effort to preserve wildlife pens is led by James Ray, W.A. West, and Pete Warren. "Preserve Wildlife Pens in North Carolina" is a division of the NC Sporting Dog Association, Inc. For more information, call Pete Warren directly at (252) 286-9808.
